Eat Something Sexy

Updated: Feb 9, 2022

Food + Sex = YES! If you're looking for natural ways to boost your libido then what better way to spice up your sex life with then these aphrodisiac foods.

OYSTERS

Oysters are known as a natural aphrodisiac and are widely used to increased sexual desire and drive. Fellas, they are high in zinc, a mineral important to the production of testosterone and healthy sperm. Oysters are also a great source of omega-3 fatty acids which help increase blood flow, preventing problems like erectile dysfunction. Ladies, if you're trying to get knocked up, in can increase fertility. Lastly, oysters has amino acids that trigger dopamine (what I like to call our pleasure hormone), which boosts your libido and increases your desire. So ladies and gent, bon appétit!

Red Wine

Ok ok so I may be a bit biased with this one but c'monnnnnn, enough red wine will make any one lose their inhibitions. Seriously, red wine is in fact an antioxidant as well as an anti-inflammatory. It literally helps get your blood pumping especially in the ahem* erogenous zones.

Chocolate

Chocolate contains two chemicals that are linked to arousal, tryptophan, a brain chemical involved in arousal and phenylethylamine (try saying that 5x fast), a stimulant related to amphetamines. which is released in the brain when people fall in love. This is probably why so many babies are conceived on Valentine's Day.

Honey

This liquid gold contains borno, which aids in the regulation of hormones and nitric oxide. Nitric oxide helps open up blood vessels used to create an erection. Honey has been used as an aphrodisiac since the ancient Greeks... and we all know back in the day the Greeks were some freaks so take notes.

Bananas

Now, you know I had to add a phallic shaped fruit in here. Bananas have all the minerals and nutrients we all know and love such as potassium, riboflavin, and vitamin B2. However, bananas also contain bromelian enzymes which stimulate men's testosterone production, increasing that cave man sex drive.

Chili Peppers

When I said spice up your sex life, I really meant it. Adding chili peppers to recipes is an easy way to get your aphrodisiac on. Chili peppers raises your heart, stimulates endorphins, and increases your libido. Side effects may include a little sweat but that means you're coming out those clothes.

Asparagus

Have you ever had grilled bacon wrapped asparagus? Delicious. Anyways, asparagus contains high levels of vitamin E and vitamin B which is sometimes known as the "sex vitamin" as it promotes the production of sex hormones which support attraction, mood, and desire. However, there's a strong possibility it'll make your urine stink. My advice is to lay off on the golden showers if you eat asparagus. You've been warned!

Avocados

Avocado has become a trendy power food and rightfully so. Avocados are packed full of vitamins like C, E, K, and B6, minerals, and nutrients such as potassium, magnesium, folate, niacin, riboflavin, I mean I can seriously keep going, So can you if you eat avocados...

Salmon

Remember when I talked about the omega-3 fatty acids?? Well they're back and I bringing them in the form of fish, salmon to be exact. Not only is salmon high in omega-3s, it aids in producing estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone.

Figs

Figs is another fruit packed full of amino acids and nutrients like zinc and vitamin E the "sex hormone" all of which help to increase one's libido. It's also a great source of Iron which helps prevent fatigue. And who doesn't want more energy for pleasurable activities. Herbalists believe the seeds of a fig are good for fertility. I'm just gonna go ahead and say it, when you cut a fig in half it looks like a vagina... it has to be an aphrodisiac.
